Christmas Sleigh with Birds Of A Feather

Check out the new December kit from Birds Of A Feather, it is so festive and just plain gorgeous!

I am having a blast with it so far.
I bought this wooden sleigh at a local thrift store several months ago and I have been waiting (almost impatiently) to alter it. This kit I got in the mail is PERFECT for it.
I painted all of the sides bright red before applying the paper and ModgePodge to give it a finished look.

For the presents I wrapped wooden blocks from my stash with cute Christmas paper and finished them off with a bow, tag and a poinsettia.

Want to know how to make this tree?

Step 1. Cut out 7-8 green circles ranging from 1 1/2 inches to 4 inches.

Step 2. Fold each circle in half, then in half again and again until you have 4 points.

Step 3. Poke a hole in each circle large enough for a 1/8 inch wooden dowel to poke through. Poke them all through starting with the smallest to biggest. Use your hot glue gun to attach each circle to the dowel so they don't slip off.

You're done! You can add ornaments to your tree or add some sparkly faux snow.

Thanks for looking! :)

Last of the Birds Of A Feather NOV kit

I just got my December kit from Birds Of A Feather in the mail and its full of wonderful Christmas bliss. But before I jump into that one, I need to share with you the last of my projects using the November kit. There is still one left by the way.

Its been a while since I made a round LO, it was about due. :)

Together

I added a few Cheery Lynn Designs on here as well.

Our Heritage
This is my cute hubby with his beautiful mother. I did planty of fussy cutting on this layout. Its always a nice, easy way to fill in space.

This jounaling tag is the new color resist journaling tag from Pink Paislee. They are so fun. Simply spray it with your favorite spritz spray and the design shows through.

Finally, the kit included a full sheet of Bo Bunny chipboard. I used the largest clock on the sheet for this card. I had a cool screw-looking brad in my stash that worked perfect for the center of the hands.

Fall Treats

Its another busy week at the bakery...mainly pies, rolls and such but I have been making some cute Thanksgiving/ Fallish treats too.

Pardon my picture quality. I have a new phone and it doesn't excel in the photo taking department.

Turkey Cupcakes. I love the looks on their faces, they're not really that dumb, are they?

This here is a super yummy truffle cake. It started out like a normal 2layer cake but added melted truffle to the top. Yum!

Ruffles are all the rage in cake decorating right now. I made this 2 tiered cake for my mother in law's birthday. After I ruffled it I sprayed it with fall colors using my air brush machine. Yes, I know....I've been told by several children that it looks like a giant candy corn.

And finally...My DH's grandmother recently celebrated her 80th birthday. I made this cake and cupcake stand for the event.

Warehouse Sale HAPPINESS

See this??? Oh ya!!!....I attended! It was only 5 miles from my house so I couldn't NOT go!
Here is my lovely loot.

So, how much do you think I spent on all of this?
Leave a comment with your guess by Sunday Nov. 20th midnight. The one who is closest will win a brand new package of Thickers of their choice from the picture above. US residents only please.

I'll give you a hint. I brought home a total of 160 papers (patterned and cardstock), the most expensive thing I bought were the page protectors - they were 6 packages for $10.00, and the Thickers costs only $1.50 each!!!

Blessed

TGIF! Today I made a matching layout and card using plenty of fabulous Creative Charms.

This is the prefect time of year to reflect on all of the gifts and talents we've been given and to focus on how blessed we all are.

I placed these adorable Vintage Velvet Poppies in a cluster towards the bottom of my page backed by a few Silver Dotted Leaves.

I added a special touch to a scalloped edge by adding Gradient Jewel stickers in white. Finally a few scattered Loop d' Loop Funky Brads added a nice little touch.

..................................................................................

For my card I used several of the same embellishments as in my layout but I added a few black Gradient Jewels and cute green butterfly gems. To really make the butterflies stand out I added some curled wire for the antennas.

That's all for today. Check back real soon!

Sketch 136

All of the beautiful trees with their bright fall colors reminded me of a sketch that I hadn't shared yet.

I don't have a prize to offer but if you feel inspired to try the sketch, add your take to Mr. Linky below and I'll add a few of your examples to the blog.

Here is a fabulous page done by Patricia Cugnod.

So Grateful

It was love at first sight when I opened up my November kit from Birds Of A Feather. Its not that I knew of all the great pictures I would scrap with it but I looked at it as ONE BIG CHALLENGE. Its all so pretty but this is not the kind of paper I usually buy so I was excited to see what the outcome would be.

Sweet babyhood only lasts a precious, short time so the clock theme throughout the kit worked well. This is my cute nephew, Oliver. Isn't he a doll?

I cut the flowers out with a brand new Sizzix die I bought this week ( oh, how I love a new toy.) I painted the petals with Shimmers which is included in the kit.

This season is the perfect time to reflect and express what you are thankful for so I thought a "grateful" card would be appropriate.

This Bo Bunny flower was a bit dull to start out with so I added a pearl to the center and more Shimmerz to the petals.

And finally... every month on the Birds Of A Feather forum we have about 4-5 challenges. One is always a sketch. This month we are using the brand new PageMaps sketch. I flipped it upside down to make it work for me.

This is my older brother with 2 of his youngest daughters. I met them for the first time this year...they are precious little cuties.

There is still time to get your kit HERE

Have a scrap-happy Monday!!
